We wish to foster an international, virtual community of scholars from all disciplines engaged with the study of music and sound in audio-visual media. Our intention is to organise a regular forum for researchers and practitioner-researchers at all levels to present work in supportive and informal sessions, to take place fortnightly from January 2021.

We invite proposals relating to any aspect of music, sound and the moving image as part of the first series of events. These proposals may take the form of standard 20-minute original conference papers and Q&A, but we would also be very pleased to receive proposals in other formats, including, for example: interviews with industry figures; practice-based sessions; short presentations of research-in-progress and so on.

To express your interest in participating, please complete this short Google Form, detailing your proposed title/abstract, session format, author info and provisional availability:

Please submit proposals before 3rd December 2020 if you wish to present in the first semester of next year (i.e. January-March 2021). We would also be very pleased to hear from any participants who would like to be involved with the organisation of the sessions. All sessions will take place via Zoom and are provisionally scheduled for Thursdays at 4pm BST. For any further questions/comments, please email Toby Huelin (University of Leeds) at mctmh@leeds.ac.uk.
